I am a qualified careers adviser based in England with over 25 years experience. I am also a mother and a part-time worker. I am a passionate beliver that work is about more than just money. It shapes our lives and can have a positive effect on our well-being. 





Careers Advice from a professionally qualified adviser has a code of ethics and it is supported by training to a recognised standard. Good careers advice should allow you space and time to consider your options, talk about any barriers, and help you to develop an action plan to help you to move forward. 


The main body for careers advice in the UK is the Careers Development Institute. It maintains a professional register of careers advisers which you can search by geographical area  Find a Registered Career Development Professional (thecdi.net) 


If you (or the young person you are caring for) are at school in England you should have access to personal careers guidance. Schools should be working towards "Gatsby Benchmarks". See this link for some more information:
